A website for a solar installation company
A static Astro site for Kun Sun d.o.o. with a project gallery, a colour palette matched to project photography, and a contact flow running on the client's existing server.
Kun Sun d.o.o., based in Tkon on the Croatian coast, designs and installs solar systems: on-grid, hybrid and off-grid, from the first conversation about a building’s needs through installation and maintenance. Until now, their only online presence was an Instagram profile, and the brief was clear: all the essential information in one place.
The problem
Most of their contacts come through conversation, referrals and business cards. At that moment, the person needs somewhere to see what the company does, browse completed projects and get in touch. Just as important: a place that can easily be forwarded to someone else. An Instagram profile doesn’t cover that, because the information is scattered across posts and there’s nothing to send as a whole.
The solution
A static site with four sections: home, services, projects and contact. Services are organised around the three system types (on-grid, hybrid, off-grid). Projects are shown with location, capacity and photos, grouped by category from grid-connected houses to off-grid installations.
The contact page combines phone, WhatsApp and email with an inquiry form powered by Web3Forms, which works on a static site without a backend of its own.
Design: a palette from photographs
The colours weren’t picked from a catalogue but drawn from photos of completed installations: olive, stone, roof tile. The Dalmatian landscape these systems actually stand in. Because of that, the photography fits naturally into the site.
The technical side
The site is built with Astro. The main reason is speed: pages are served as static HTML, and the project photos, which are numerous and carry the site, are automatically converted to AVIF and served at a size matched to the screen. Hosting is on the client’s existing server, which also handles his email.
The last step: business cards
Alongside the site, we designed business cards with a QR code pointing to it. That closes the loop: a conversation or referral → a business card → a site with all the essential information → an inquiry.
